To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to aply apply for a Senior Software Engineer position. I have over 20 15 years of experience across mobile, web, and server platforms.
I began my career in 2005 2003 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, writing .NET CRM systems for the dairy industry (Land O'Lakes / White Clover Dairy). From 2007 to 2010 I maintained an online classroom platform at the University of Phoenix serving 400,000 students.
Between 2010 and 2011, I took an extended vacation field expedition — riding a motorcycle solo, 20,000 miles, from Arizona to Argentina, over eight months. I later wrote a memoir about it titled "Anxiety Across the Americas."
From 2016 to 2017, at DAT Solutions, I built an Android app called "Load Board" along with its Node.js APIs, more or less entirely from scratch. From 2017 to 2019, at Cvent, I led a React Native pilot and was promoted to Tech Lead within six months — I also built a Storybook component library and hosted local meetups.
From 2019 to 2024, at New Relic, I led the migration of 50+ screens from Java/XML to Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Since 2024, I've been at eBay working on item discovery and offer management, sales analytics, and coupon systems — and increasingly working alongside AI tools like GitHub Copilot, Cline, and Claude Code.
My skills include:
I hold a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Philosophy from Saint Norbert College (2000–2004). The philosophy degree turns out to be useful — mostly especially during incident reviews.
