PORTLAND — In a development that has left junior developers "cautiously optimistic," local senior software engineer Bill Dwyer has reportedly completed the migration of more than fifty application screens from Java and XML to Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, sources confirm.

"He just... did it," said one teammate, who asked to remain anonymous. "We came in Monday and the build was green. We don't talk about it."

The migration is the latest chapter in a career that has spanned mobile, web, and server-side development across more than a dozen companies — including a stint at eBay, where Dwyer currently leads work on item discovery and offer management, integrating tools like GitHub Copilot, Cline, and Claude Code into the team's daily workflow.

Before his current role, Dwyer led the React Native pilot at Cvent, becoming tech lead within six months — a timeline coworkers describe as "aggressive, but he had charts."

Dwyer holds dual degrees in Computer Science and Philosophy from Saint Norbert College, which he says "comes up more than you'd think, mostly during incident reviews."
